Utah State Clinshes Share of WAC Title

It was a huge clash between the top two teams in the WAC as Utah State beat Louisiana Tech in Ruston to claim at least a share of the WAC title. It wasn't easy and the Aggies need overtime to top Sonny Dykes' side from reclaiming the WAC crown.
Utah State got off to a hot start, going up by as many as 24 in the third quarter but they had their hands full as the high powered offense of Louisiana Tech rallied to score 38 in the second half including 24 unanswered to bring them back at the end of regulation.
But despite giving up 41 points to the Bulldogs, the Utah State defense were the stars of this game. They forced Colby Cameron to throw his first interception of the season late in the second quarter ending an NCAA-record streak of 445 pass attempts without an interception. Then after the Aggies got into the endzone on their overtime possession their defense did what seemes impossible at the time, they stopped Louisiana Tech's offense on four consecutive plays to end the game.
On offense Utah State was lead by Sophomore quarterback Chuckie Keeton, who passed for 340 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 121 yards and two more touchdowns and Senior running back Kerwynn Williams who rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.
Utah State has just one more game left and you can watch it right here on KCWX as they host Idaho. If they can win this game the WAC championship is theirs and theirs alone but if they slip up things could get hairy with three teams tied for first place in the conference.
The loss ends any hope of an at-large BCS bid for Louisiana Tech.
